I want to share my experiences and research because I was at a crossroads and didn't know what to do, I didn't want to lose an organ that is very important to my health and well-being. So, maybe what I went through can help someone else by informing everyone there are alternatives if you are willing to do the work.
The holistic doctor checked my thyroglobulin levels back when my thyroid issue journey first started and they were 595 (the normal range is 1.50 to 38). I had anxiety and difficulty sleeping so my symptoms weren't life-threatening so I figured I had time to explore other options besides having my thyroid removed or ablated like the traditional doctor provided as my only option.
I went to see a holistic doctor and they changed my life! My thyroglobulin was 50 at my last test and my symptoms are gone. My bloodwork looks great! My thyroid hormones are all in the normal range, my nutrient deficiencies are gone, my gut microbiome looks good, inflammation is gone, and my other hormones are balanced.
It has been 14 years since first starting out on this journey to be healed and it is something that I will have to do for the rest of my life to manage this immune system problem but I will do it because I want to be healthy, have energy, maintain a healthy weight and be able to live my life to the fullest without having health issues get in the way.
Immune system disorders can cause very uncomfortable symptoms. For example, you may feel fatigued, have muscle pain, and weight gain. If you have a thyroid problem or other immune system issue, how would a holistic doctor treat you as opposed to a traditional medical doctor?
A holistic doctor would take into account all of the symptoms that you are experiencing. They would also look at your thyroglobulin levels. This is because thyroglobulin testing can be an indicator of thyroid issues. If your thyroglobulin levels are high, it could be an indication that you have an autoimmune disorder.
Autoimmune disorders occur when your body attacks itself. This can happen for a variety of reasons, including stress, hormone imbalances, and nutrient deficiencies. A holistic doctor would work to find the root cause of your autoimmune disorder and treat it accordingly.
A traditional medical doctor, on the other hand, would likely prescribe you medication to manage your symptoms. This might include meds to regulate your thyroid hormone levels or other meds to reduce inflammation. While these medications can be effective in the short term, they do not address the underlying cause of your condition.
So, if you are suffering from an immune system disorder, it may be worth considering also seeing a holistic doctor. They will take a more individualized approach to your care and look at all of the factors that could be contributing to your condition.
